I have purchased this several times, both as a resource for a preschool center and for my three of my grandchildren.
Children love exploring and creating through carpentry. Not only do they find it fun and satisfying, they are also learning and strengthening a huge amount of skills. This pack makes carpentry fun, as children find sawing wood into the shape they want really tricky. (Lets face it so do most adults) This pack with has plenty of different shaped wood including circles. The right kind of nails for children to easily hammer in. In this box there is plenty for being able to create several projects.
Children get to experiment with different tools. Learning how to create something in a 3-dimensional way. Learning the skills and attitude needed to see a project from beginning to end. Hand-eye coordination. Spatial awareness. Planning and problem-solving. Observing, predicting and experiment, Cause and effect. Understand length, size, balance and force. Gain increasing control over their bodies and strengthening muscles.
Even 2 and a half year old's have the ability to create with this pack and the older school age child get huge saturations from creating more complicated projects that they then incorporated into their play.
Its a really good idea to be close enough to supervising this activity. Try hard to let the child explore and create in their way, even if they ask for you to do something for them or say they can't, encourage them to give it a go because that's the only way they will strengthen their skills. There isn't a right or wrong way or a right or wrong creation, its more about letting the child experiment, explore, create, invent, strengthen and extend their existing skills.
Yep this is the perfect present for children, and you can buy it several times for the same children because as they grow so will their ability to create.
My two granddaughters and my grandson have enjoyed hours of fun.
